                Federated Garden Clubs of

                       South Dakota, Inc.



The Federated Garden Clubs of South Dakota was organized in 1944.  The state organization consists of 3 districts, 8 clubs and approximately 200 members.  The SDFGC is a member of the National Garden Club, Inc (NGC). and Rocky Mountain Region (RMR). 

The NGC is the largest volunteer organization of its type in the world.  NGC headquarters is located in St. Louis, MO, adjacent to the St. Louis Botanical Gardens.  NGC has 200,000 international members, 6300 local clubs, 50 state clubs and a National Capital Area club.  NGC was organized May 1, 1929 and incorporated April 18, 1930.

The Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) consists of eight states which are Colorado Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc., Kansas Associated Garden Clubs, Inc., Montana Federated Garden Clubs, Federated Garden Clubs of Nebraska, North Dakota State Federated Garden Clubs, Inc., The Utah Associated Garden Clubs, Inc., Wyoming Federated of Garden Clubs, Inc and the South Dakota Federated Garden Clubs.
